Nokia’s head of marketing in UK takes on Asia role

Nokia’s UK marketing director, Will Harris, is to leave his position to take on the same role in the mobile manufacturer’s South-east Asia and Pacific division.

Harris will work out of the brand’s Singapore office and will move there early next year. He replaces Loren Shuster, who is relocating to the company’s headquarters in Finland to become head of go-to-market operations.

Speaking exclusively to Marketing Week, Harris says: “This is a huge opportunity and a learning experience to market to a population of over 850 million people, and help to boost the levels of growth already in existence in this advancing region.”

When Harris joined Nokia as its first dedicated UK marketing director in October 2007, he was tasked with overseeing UK brand and product development.

Nokia is looking for a replacement for Harris in the UK, which a company spokeswoman says will be revealed “in Quarter One of 2010”.
