SeeSaw appoints managing editor

SeeSaw, the online TV service owned by broadcaster Arqiva, has appointed Dan Watt-Smith as managing editor.

He will establish an editorial voice and content strategy for the service, due to launch in the first quarter of 2010.

Watt-Smith was previously chief mobile editor at online video-on-demand broadcaster Babelgum.

He was originally channel programming manager but more recently spearheaded the editorial strategy behind the company’s focus on mobile video.

Watt-Smith said, “The SeeSaw team is dedicated to presenting TV lovers with a unique and exciting way to watch their favourite shows. I’m very excited to be joining SeeSaw and the online TV space at such an important time.”

He will join the Marketing & Content team at SeeSaw and will report directly to platform controller John Keeling.

Keeling said, “Dan will be a significant addition to the team. His appointment will bring us one step closer to making SeeSaw a real consumer proposition in early 2010.”
