As part of the deal, Shakira will become a brand ambassador for the Spanish car marque for the duration of her European tour. The deal will also see Seat and Shakira support efforts towards universal education.
Seat will work closely with the Barefoot Foundation, a charity which was created by Shakira when she was just 18, to help provide education for children living in extreme poverty.
The sponsorship follows the success of a previous sponsorship between the marque and the popstar. Seat also sponsored Shakira’s ‘Oral Fixation’ European tour in 2007.
During the last tour, the car manufacturer helped to lead a charity campaign, which brought in more than €100,000 (£88,700) for the Pies Descalzos (Barefoot) Foundation.
Funds were rasised from the auction of a purple Seat Leon, autographed by Shakira and re-named the Seat Leon Pies Descalzos. The car was presented at the 2007 Barcelona International Motor Show to the winner.
