NME Radio to launch digitally nationwide

NME Radio has confirmed it is to launch nationally on DAB radio from today (22 December).

The spin-off from the IPC owned magazine has been available on DAB in London since May and will join the Digital One platform that includes Planet Rock for an eight-month trial.

NME Radio managing and programming director Sammy Jacob says: “Since launch, NME Radio has strived to increase distribution with constant requests for the station to be made available nationally on DAB. We are therefore delighted with this development as it will significantly increase the opportunity to listen to the station across the country.”

He adds: “NME Radio is extremely passionate about the music it plays, especially the promotion of great new acts. Being able to share that passion with a wider audience will make it all the more worthwhile.”

NME Radio was broadcast in London throughout March on 87.7FM. The station made use of a temporary Restricted Service Licence to broadcast in the capital for one month.
