Puerto Rico Tourism Company appoints Hills Balfour Synergy

The Puerto Rico Tourism Company has appointed travel and tourism public relations and marketing agency Hills Balfour Synergy to handle its sales, marketing and PR activity.

Increasing visitor numbers, length-of-stay and the overall promotion of Puerto Rico as a desirable, accessible and year-round visitor destination will be the main goals of the campaign devised by the agency.

Additional attention will be placed on historical attractions, cruise development and promotion of the vibrant and unique melting pot of Spanish, pre-Columbian, African and North American cultures, as well as the myriad of natural experiences and some 300 miles of beautiful beaches that this tropical Caribbean island has to offer.

Marimar Lidin, sales director Europe, Puerto Rico Tourism Company commented: “We are looking forward to a long and successful working relationship with Hills Balfour Synergy. Their enthusiasm and unique ideas will no doubt substantially elevate Puerto Rico’s profile in the UK market.  We have so much to offer the UK traveller and are confident that Hills Balfour Synergy will communicate the many unique selling points of our stunning destination.”

Trade representation is currently underway and includes sales calls, sales agent training, product updates and tour operator relations.  The public relations activity will commence on 1 January 2010.
