Water company launches campaign to stop leaks

United Utilities, the water company, is launching an integrated campaign encouraging consumers to report leaks through its dedicated Leakline service.

The “You spot it, we’ll stop it” campaign, created by Origin Creative Design, includes online, outdoor and broadcast elements and will run until the end of March.

The campaign asks customers to report leaks via Leakline, a dedicated phone line and web page, in a bid to reduce water wastage by repairing leaking water pipes as quickly as possible.

Rose Francis, campaign manager at United Utilities says: “Reducing water leaks is important for the environment, and it is also something that we as a business are measured on. During periods of severe weather, such as the conditions we have experienced recently, the risks of leaks are much higher, so the campaign will help keep customers aware of the problem as well as reminding them how easy it is to let us know.”

In November, the water company launched its ‘What not to flush’ sewer monster campaign to reduce the number of house floods caused by people flushing the wrong things down the toilet and kitchen sink.
