O2 to be headline sponsor of Golf Live

O2 will be the headline sponsor of Golf Live, a new interactive golf event to be staged at Stoke Park Golf Club, Buckinghamshire, on May 14-16 2010.

The event, which features players such as Colin Montgomerie, Paul Casey, Ian Poulter, Retief Goosen plus some of the leading coaches in the game, will be known as O2 Golf Live in association with The Daily Telegraph.

O2 joins other commercial sponsors who have agreed to support the event, including its travel Partner, Golfbreaks.com, and media partners, The Daily Telegraph and Bauer Consumer Media, publishers of Today’s Golfer, Golf World and Todaysgolfer.co.uk, who will be providing advance publicity valued at over £1.2m.

James Goode, the event director, says: “We are delighted to announce that O2 has signed up to be the Title Sponsor of Golf LIVE, said. “O2 is renowned for supporting top quality sports and entertainment events and its reputation for innovation and delivering exceptional experiences fits perfectly with the Golf Live brand.”

Through our sponsorship we will be able to further enhance the experience for O2 customers by offering priority tickets, a chance to meet the stars and much more throughout the weekend.”

O2 recently announced it was looking into entering the travel insurance marketplace in the near future.
