Competition is not good value

While I do not wish to enter a political debate, I would question the Conservative Party’s plan to offer a £1 million prize in a competition to develop a website that would allow large groups of people to help develop new policies.

Many very effective and well-tested systems already exist within the market – including our own Open Debate system which has been used extensively by the renewables sector.

I applaud Jeremy Hunt MP for seeing the value in public consultation, but suggest he may be wise to look at the fantastic systems that have already been developed. They can be implemented for significantly less than the £1 million prize Mr Hunt plans to offer.
