Affiliate Window’s Edwards becomes IAB AMC chair

Kevin Edwards, strategy director of Affiliate Window, has been elected chairman of the IAB Affiliate Marketing Council.

He will head the council for the next year, leading industry initiatives including the ethical merchant charter and voucher code guidelines, with a focus on greater self-regulation within the affiliate industry and working more closely with other IAB councils.

He takes over from i-level head of affiliates Matt Bailey.

Edwards said, “An ongoing focus on best practice and educating a wider audience about affiliate marketing’s strengths should see the industry move further into the mainstream and occupy the position it rightfully deserves.”

Dan Redfearn, membership manager at the IAB, said, “Following a phenomenal 2009, the council has a great opportunity to build on these achievements and create a more robust self-regulatory framework while shouting about the great work and initiatives that make the affiliate marketing industry so dynamic and innovative.”

The IAB Affiliate Marketing Council was established in 2007 to give brands and advertisers in the sector more understanding and guidance.
