Ian Wright to front The Sun’s World Cup themed promotion
The Sun has signed footballer Ian Wright to front its ultimate fans’ World Cup competition, run in association with Kia Motors.
Over six weeks Wright and The Sun will pick the ’squad’ of 11 winners to go to South Africa to see England play in this summers’ World Cup. The winners will get category 1 tickets to every England group game in the World Cup for them and a friend – as well as a 16 night stay in Cape Town, food, transfers and flights. To join, readers need to register online.
The site is now open for registrations and the competition will run from 22 February for six weeks until March 29.
From 22 February, a question will be texted or emailed to each registered participant every day, with the answers only to be found in the Sports section of The Sun newspaper. Readers must text or email their answers back to the paper.
Every week for five weeks two winners will be drawn from the correct answers, and in the sixth week a bonus winner will be selected from all correct answers from the duration of the competition.
The competition has been created for The Sun by advertising agency glue London. It will be supported with TV advertising around key football fixtures in February and March, and digitally with a suite of standard banner ads, rich media video ads, a viral video and a dedicated website
Last week, Kia Motors UK announced it was teaming up with News Corp media brands to create a joint platform for fans to engage with the tournament in a £1.5m deal.
