Thomas Cook bookings boosted by Redknapp ad
Thomas Cook has increased its holiday bookings by 15%, boosted by its latest advertising campaign starring Jamie and Louise Redknapp.
The travel operator credited the celebrity couple with helping to promote its “higher margin, medium haul” destinations in its summer deals.
Despite reporting a loss before tax of £81.5m for the October to December period, the company is reportedly “confident” about meeting its full-year targets, based on it securing the majority of its profits in the summer months.
Group chief executive, Manny Fontenla-Novoa, says: “I think the worst is behind us. However, I’m not sure there’s going to be a tremendous bounce back this year. I think it will be a fairly good year but I don’t think it’s boom time,”.
The Redknapps were paid an undisclosed sum to appear in the commercial, which was first broadcast last month.
Meanwhile, Thomas Cook has renewed its partnership with Microsoft Advertising and has today unveiled a ’Spin the Globe to Find Your Holiday’ campaign.
The campaign features unique video content that will be continually updated throughout the duration of the campaign.
