M&S to launch home energy service

Marks & Spencer is launching a Home Energy Service division that will offer customers a suite of energy efficiency products and services.

M&S will offer energy advice, renewable energy solutions such as solar panels & heat pumps, and energy efficient heating solutions.

The first product available will be M&S Energy Home Insulation. From this week customers will be able to get loft and cavity wall insulation from £149 each.

Customers will deal with M&S directly and pay the retailer for the installation of insulation, not the supplier.

Stephen Langford, Head of M&S Energy, says: We’ve launched a service that takes the hassle factor out of home insulation and applies M&S standards of quality, value and customer service.

To drive the new service, M&S is offering free loft or cavity wall insulation to all its employees as part of its Plan A environmental commitments.

The initiative follows M&S Energy, a partnership between M&S and Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE), which launched a year ago and services more than 125,000 homes. M&S Energy rewards customers with M&S vouchers for reducing their energy usage.
