Simon Cowell’s record label, Syco Music, is seeking a marketing director. The role has been newly created ahead of Cowell taking The X Factor to the US next year.

Syco Music, which signs the winner of The X Factor to its label every year, says it is offering a “unique opportunity to lead the team responsible for delivering success”. The company claims to be “the industry benchmark for success.”

It is part of the Sony Music Entertainment Group, who recently confirmed plans for a long-term global venture with Simon Cowell and Sir Philip Green, which will include a US version of The X Factor.

X-Factor alumni still signed to Syco include Joe McElderry, Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis and Shayne Ward. It also represents Britain’s Got Talent runner up Susan Boyle, which Cowell also judges and produces.

Il Divo and Westlife are also signed up to the label, which is part of the Sony Music Entertainment Group.

Cowell’s company says “creative, progressive and fearless entrepreneurs should only apply for the role”.

Cowell claims Syco accounted for 70% of all Sony Music UK profit in 2008 despite only employing 15 people.

Syco Music also produced the current UK number one record, Everybody Hurts, a cover of the R.E.M track by artists signed to its label and other artists including JLS, Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams, in a tribute to the victims of the Haiti Earthquake earlier this year.
