Kasabian star in England away kit campaign

Umbro is launching a campaign to promote the launch of the new England away kit tomorrow (3 March) featuring Brit award winners Kasabian.

The launch of the outdoor and digital activity coincides with the kit’s first outing in the friendly between England and Egypt at Wembley.

Kasabian singer Tom Meighan wore the shirt for the first time at a Paris gig last month. A viral film will tell the story of the gig.

Posters will feature images of Meighan with the text Away. Debuted by Kasabian in Paris and Umbro’s strapline “Tailored by England”.

England players including Wayne Rooney, David Beckham and former captain John Terry, who was recently sacked as skipper in the wake of allegations about an affair with former team mate Wayne Bridge’s ex-girlfriend will also appear in promotional materials.

Umbro also worked with Kasabian on the launch of its Football Wardrobe clothing collection. The two worked together on a viral parody of the Guitar Hero video game dubbed ’Football Hero’.
