Ferrero marketer promoted to regional commercial director

Ferrero has promoted its UK marketing director Dave Tucker to the new position of regional commercial director.

Tucker, a former Coca-Cola marketer, will be based in Ferrero’s headquarters in Luxembourg and will be replaced in the UK by Mauro De Felip, who joins from Ferrero Italy.

Tucker will now be responsible for the USA, South America, Canada, Australia and the UK for Ferrero’s boxed chocolate brands.

Ferrero says he has been promoted following the brand’s success in the UK, where it has doubled its market share in confectionery from 2% to 4%.

During his time as UK marketing director, Tucker was involved in the positioning of Ferrero as the leading boxed chocolate range and helped to achieve its highest ever market share in Christmas 2009. He also worked on the launch of Ferrero Collection, Ferrero Rondnoir and Raffaello by Ferrero’

The luxury confectioner spent most of this year being touted as a potential bidder to take over Cadbury, but never actually made an offer for the British company.

In the UK, De Felip will report to UK managing director Christian Walter, and will be responsible for all Ferrero brands including Tic Tac, Nutella, Ferrero, Kinder Bueno and Kinder Kids.
