Tom Gardner, head of marketing for cars, and Ian Armstrong, manager of customer communications for cars are both being promoted to take up the same positions at European level. They will still be based in Honda’s Slough offices.

Armstrong is a former manager of customer communications at the DMA, and was a brand group manager at Britvic Soft Drinks.

At Honda Motor Europe, they will report to Ken Keir, a former managing director, at Honda UK and currently senior vice president at Honda Motor Europe.

Keir is being promoted to the position of executive vice president, Honda Motor Europe where he will be responsible for business performance in 27 European markets for cars, motorcycles and power products.

With the appointment of Hodgetts at Honda UK, Keir relinquishes direct responsibility for the UK operation focusing entirely on strengthening the total European sales operation.

Honda says it is interviewing candidates internally and expects to have recruited new UK personnel within the next week.
