Brand chief Tom Hings leaves Royal Mail

Royal Mail brand director Tom Hings is leaving the postal service after seven years. It is not known whether he has a job to go to.

Hings will leave next week (31 March) “to seek new opportunities”, according to a spokesman.

Royal Mail’s commercial and marketing departments underwent a restructure 18 months ago to facilitate a more “customer-led” business and marketing approach.

As part of the overhaul, Luisa Fulci was promoted to director of marketing services, leading a team that included Hings, and Mark Thomson was appointed media director.

Royal Mail is now looking for a head of brand marketing and communications but declined to comment on the role.

The company has recently been looking at ways to boost revenues and develop its status as a media owner.
