Pop band The Feeling are searching for partners to sponsor their annual music festival in the French Alps.

The first Little World Festival was held this month in the ski resort of Meribel featuring music from The Feeling, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze and Graham Gouldman of 10cc. It attracted 6000 people to its main event on the Friday evening.

The band’s frontman Dan Gillespie Sells says: “The strategy was to target our core fan-base. We also made sure the 30 000 people visiting the resort knew the festival was going on but didn’t want to push too hard as it’s our first year and we didn’t want to over-stretch the infrastructure.”

The band have secured a five-year license for the event and are looking to grow it by targeting a wide demographic by offering a combination of skiing and music.

Gillespie Sells says: “We are looking for sponsorship partners that recognise and believe in the musical integrity of this festival to help us make next years event bigger and better.”

Bands, labels and retailers are increasingly looking to sponsored live events in the face of declining margins and revenues from record sales.
