Oldfield, who has spent 12 years at Mercedes-Benz UK and who was also formerly marketing director passenger car services, will take up his post on 1 April.

After car sales, customer service strategy, marketing and delivery for Mercedes-Benz Cars, Vans and Trucks, smart, Maybach and Mitsubishi Fuso Canter in the UK will form the basis of the role.

’Where we need to sharpen our focus is on the sales and marketing function, in terms of understanding what products the customers want and how we can best deliver the right services and products to meet those customer needs,’ says Oldfield.

Mike Belk, who is being replaced by Oldfield, is leaving the post to take the reigns as chief executive and president of Daimler Middle East and Levant, based in Dubai.

Wilfried Steffen, president and chief executive of Mercedes-Benz UK says that customer service is a key priority for the brand, and that Oldfield’s ’proven track record in driving significant improvements in customer satisfaction and his previous experience in after sales made him the perfect candidate for the role’.
