Microsoft appoints general manager for MSN

Microsoft has appointed Geoff Sutton as the new general manager of MSN.

Sutton will be responsible for MSN’s markets outside the US, concentrating on content, programming strategy and execution of its portal sites.

He was previously general manager and regional executive producer for MSN in Europe, Middle-East and Asia.

In his new role Sutton will focus on building the company’s video portfolio, establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships and monetising the brand.

Sutton says: “This position provides the platform to take MSN to a new level of profitability through contributing to the growth of Bing, becoming a player in Mobile, and deepening customer engagement.”
