WFA names Chris Burggraeve president

The World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) has appointed A-B InBev chief marketing officer Chris Burggraeve as its president.

He succeeds Bernhard Glock, former vice president of global head of media at Procter & Gamble and current president and CEO of Media Leadership Company.

Burggraeve was unanimously voted in by WFA members on 1 April at the WFA Annual General Meeting as part of Global Advertiser Week.

Chris joined InBev in November 2007 following a 12-year career with The Coca-Cola Company, where he was group-marketing director for the European operating group.

Previously he worked for Procter & Gamble Benelux in brand management and innovation.

Stephen Kehoe, PepsiCo vice president of public & government affairs was also voted WFA deputy president for the same tenure.

The WFA says the appointment of a senior marketer and public affairs professional reflects the dual nature of the WFA’s mission, “to help marketers be more effective and efficient while ensuring that their activities are responsible and closely reflect changing societal sensitivities.”
