Save the Children has partnered with Mary Portas, Queen of Shops, to launch the first of several permanent designer charity shops to open in London.

The “Living & Giving shop for Save the Children” in London’s Westbourne Grove follows the pop-up store that Portas opened in London’s Westfield shopping centre last year.

Save the Children is appealing to the fashion industry to donate press samples and end of season stock for the store launch next month. It is also encouraging local businesses to donate and asking the local community to get involved by volunteering in the shop.

The Westbourne Grove location was chosen for its fashion credentials and the store’s interior has been designed by Portas’s PR agency Yellow Door.

All money raised in the store will go to the charity.

Chris Coe, Save the Children’s retail director says: “The Westbourne Grove shop will mix designer fashion and lifestyle with local talent, whether it’s homemade jam or works of art.”
