G2 promotes Leone to CEO role

G2 Worldwide has expanded the remit of its chief operating officer  (COO) Pietro Leone, making him chief executive officer for G2 Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The role will be an expansion of his role as chief operating officer, G2 EMEA, which he has held since early 2009. Leone takes the role effective immediately.

He will be based at the agency’s EMEA headquarters in London. Leone will report directly to Joe Celia, global chairman and CEO, G2 Worldwide.

G2’s client list includes GlaxoSmithKline, Mars Confectionery, Swatch Group and British American Tobacco.

Celia says: “Under his leadership as COO, we have already grown our multi-disciplinary capabilities, built on expanding relations with multinational clients and established a strong team of local managers, and I look forward to further success in this critical region with Pietro in his expanded role as CEO.”

Prior to his appointment as COO for G2 EMEA, he was CEO for Grey Central Eastern Europe, where he spent eight years managing Grey’s marketing communications efforts across 22 markets within the CEE region.
