Nickelodeon UK names strategy chief and MD

Nickelodeon UK has appointed Andy Goodhand as senior vice president strategy and planning director with a responsibility to oversee all consumer and commercial marketing.

The joint MTVN/BSkyB-owned children’s TV network has also appointed Tina McCann as senior vice president managing director.

Goodhand will be responsible for the development of Nickelodeon UK’s strategic plans across the whole business. Alongside marketing, he will also oversee strategic property/consumer product management and development, press and PR, research, and channel planning.

His previous role was vp of planning and presentation. Marketing director Stephen Brabenec will continue to report to Goodhand in his new role.

McCann joins Nickelodeon from Turner Broadcasting where she is acting chief content officer for the children’s entertainment brands in EMEA; overseeing development and acquisitions for Turner’s Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Cartoonito brands, as well as having responsibility for the central creative and franchise management.

She starts her new position on 10 May, assuming overall responsibility for all the network’s UK operations and brands and reports to the board of Nickelodeon UK.

Nickelodeon UK comprises six dedicated entertainment channels for kids aged 2-12: Nickelodeon, NickToons, NickToons Replay, Nick Jr, Nick Jr 2 and Nick Replay. Flagship programmes include SpongeBob SquarePants and The Penguins of Madagascar.
