Boots features Sex and the City trailer in TV ad

Warner Bros. is partnering with high street health and beauty retailer Boots for the release of Sex and the City 2.

Boots is launching a television advertisement to promote its partnership as the official health and beauty retail partner of the film, starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon.

The 30-second ad, created by Mother, includes a teaser trailer of the film and then shows four women getting ready for a summer night out.

It uses the “Here come the girls” soundtrack Boots has featured on its TV ads for the past year.

The campaign will be supported in-store with merchandise and point of sale material featuring the New York skyline and the film’s logo alongside three for two offers on beauty brands and Boots own brand products.

Elizabeth Fagan, Boots marketing director, says: “The Sex and the City 2 franchise resonates deeply with our customers. The association reinforces Boots as being the perfect one-stop-shop for a range of great value summer beauty products and expert advice, all designed to make our women look and feel good.”

Debenhams has also partnered with the sequel as the film’s official retail partner, to push its fashion credentials.

Brands including Diet Coke, Cadbury, Kellogg and Max Factor are also investing in cinema advertising around new release Sex and the City 2.

The second spin-off film from the TV series opens on 28 May.
