Engine buys i-level’s social media arm Jam

Engine Group has acquired Jam, the social media unit of media agency i-level, which yesterday announced it had gone into administration.

The 20-strong Jam team, including MD Alex Miller, head of strategy Jamie Kenny and director Richard Costa-d’sa, will all be moved to Engine.

Jam will continue to service existing clients, which include Comet, Next and Orange, while working on campaigns alongside the agencies in the Engine group, such as WCRS and Altogether Digital.

Peter Scott, chairman and joint CEO of Engine, said, “The business has a strong client base, working with a range of major brands. Jam’s service will continue seamlessly now the team is part of Engine. Working alongside Engine teams that are expert in advertising, direct marketing, PR, sponsorship, content and much more, Jam will deliver cutting-edge social media activity as part of highly creative integrated campaigns.”

Miller said, “The swift transfer ensures there’s absolutely no gap in Jam’s delivery to clients. In fact, we can now offer them a stronger and broader service.”

Yesterday i-level announced it had gone into administration, three months after losing the multi-million-pound Central Office of Information online media account (nma.co.uk 5 May 2010).
