Fashion label Louis Vuitton is launching a new campaign featuring footballing legends Pele, Diego Maradona and Zinedine Zidane. Celebrity photgrapher Annie Leibovitz shot the campaign, which was created by Ogilvy Paris.

The print campaign, which will appear in magazines worldwide, is supported by the Louis Vuitton Journeys website where a film shows Pele and Zidane in a bar playing table football with Maradona providing commentary.

The campaign, timed to coincide with the World Cup in June, builds on previous Louis Vuitton Journeys executions which have featured stars including Madonna, Keith Richards and former Soviet premier Mikhail Gorbachev. Last year the company ran an execution, also shot by Liebovitz, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of man’s conquest of the moon featuring astronauts Buzz Aldrin, Sally Ride and Jim Lovell.

The company has also entered into a partnership with FIFA, in which the luxury luggage maker will create a new travel case for the FIFA World Cup trophy, ready for this summer’s competition in South Africa.
