Digital Radio appoints first marketing director

Digital Radio UK, the company responsible for preparing the UK for digital radio switchover, has appointed Jane Ostler as its first marketing and strategy director.

The company has appointed Ostler to help the company boost takeup of digital radio following the passing of the Digital Economy Act. She will be joined by Laurence Harrison as operations director.

In her new role, Ostler will play a key leadership role in market preparation and the development of the digital radio switchover action plan. The company is planning for all radio to be upgraded to figital radio by 2015.

She joins from Digital UK, where she was a director, and has previously worked for with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Mindshare and JWT.

Ostler will also assume responsibility for consumer and retailer communications strategy and campaigns, including development and management of the digital radio mark and managing the relationship with the Digital Radio UK advertising agency AMV.BBDO. Consumer research and customer contact will also be in her remit.
