Flora encourages consumers to “Care for the hearts you love”

Unilever is unveiling a new campaign today (17 May) for butter spread Flora, aimed at encouraging people to look after their hearts and the hearts of those they love.

The ad, which is the first campaign for Flora created by DDB UK, since it was appointed to the European account last November, features progressive vignettes of people running in everyday situations. Media planning and buying was by Mindshare.

It aims to embody Flora’s commitment to healthy hearts, through the belief that people should ‘Care for the hearts they love’ by giving them Flora which has heart healthy Omega 3 & 6.

The new “Care for the hearts” philosophy replaces Flora’s previous “Love Your Heart” message. It spans all generations, showing youngsters splashing through puddles, and grandparents taking part in snowball fights.

The ad aims to “highlight the importance of having a healthy heart throughout a lifetime.”  This has been reflected through images of a golden glowing heart.

Justyna Janssen, Unilever brand development director for Flora, comments: “We are very happy with this first piece of communication delivered by DDB, it has tested very strongly and we are confident will drive business results. We’re delighted to also have a platform for the development of effective and consistent Flora campaigns in the future.”
