Sir Geoff Hurst, Martin Peters, Roger Hunt and Gordon Banks will appear in a press campaign wearing the retailer’s latest “Collezione” range.

The ad uses the strapline “Four Legends, One Label” and breaks on 21 May.

A separate ad featuring players from the current England squad wearing the M&S made official England suits will also run. It carries the strapline “Three Lions, One Tailor”.

M&S revealed a new overarching marketing strategy and new advertising strapline, “Just because…” in March. Ads star Dannii Minogue, Twiggy, Lisa Snowdon and VV Brown.

Earlier this month, Marc Bolland replaced Sir Stuart Rose as chief executive. Bolland arrived as the retailer reported like-for-like sales increased 4.8% in the first three months of 2010.

Sir Stuart is to become non-executive chairman on 31 July. He will leave the retail chain in March 2011.
