Polo Ralph Lauren extends Wimbledon sponsorship deal to 2015

Polo Ralph Lauren has signed a deal to continue its global partnership with The All England Club as the official outfitter of The Wimbledon Championships until 2015.

Under the agreement, Polo Ralph Lauren will continue to serve as the official outfitter of all on-court officials including chair umpires, line umpires and ball persons. In 2006, Polo Ralph Lauren became the first designer in Wimbledon’s 133-year history to create official uniforms for the tournament.

As part of this year’s event, which starts next week, Polo Ralph Lauren will introduces the first ever Legends Clinic, a live interactive virtual tennis clinic featuring three times Wimbledon tennis champion  Boris Becker on Thursday (17 June) at Dukes Meadows, London. Tennis enthusiasts around the world will tune in as Becker answers their emailed questions, fed to him by presenter Annabel Croft, demonstrates technique and offers hints and tips on how to improve your game.

“Wimbledon is the world’s premier sporting event and we are honored to continue our relationship and support the greatest tennis legends of our time,” says David Lauren, senior vice president of advertising, marketing and corporate communications.

“We are delighted to have entered into this partnership with Polo Ralph Lauren,” adds Ian Ritchie, chief executive, All England Club, Wimbledon. “Wimbledon and Ralph Lauren share the same non-compromising standards and determination to maintain and enhance the values for which our two brands are famous throughout the world. The Ralph Lauren brand brings to Wimbledon the look of timeless elegance, drawing on our rich history and traditions.”
