Gartmore brings in JP Morgan executive to head up marketing

Fund management firm Gartmore has appointed Charlotte Gibson as its head of marketing.

Gibson will join the company in mid July reporting to Richard Pursglove, head of
UK Retail.

She joins from JP Morgan Asset Management where she was head of business strategy and execution for the UK Retail and wholesale channel, and is a former head of UK marketing. She is also a former agency executive, having worked at McCann Erickson World Group and MBA, part of the TBWA Group.

At Gartmore, Charlotte will head the 12 strong marketing team shaping the strategy for advertising, client communications, brand, events and conferences, all critical elements in the distribution chain.

The company recently told Marketing Week it will use its latest campaign to highlight the service improvements it has made in recent years. The campaign was created by Libertine, which recently replaced Grey Advertising as Gartmore’s lead creative agency after a pitch.

Pursglove says: “Charlotte represents an exceptional hire for our business, with a wealth of experience, great energy and a shared vision for our ambitions at Gartmore. We are very much looking forward to her arrival.”
