Friends of the Earth appoints new fundraising chief

Friends of the Earth (FOE) has appointed a new director of fundraising, communications and activism to bring in new supporters and drive the charity’s political agenda.

Joe Jenkins joins FOE from The Royal Institute for Blind People (RNIB) where he was head of fundraising strategy leading the charity’s insight and data management as well as business strategy and development.

At FOE Jenkins will be responsible for integrating its supporter communications, fundraising and activism.

He will lead the eco-charity’s strategy to bring in new financial support and engage the public with political and environmental campaigns.

Jenkins says: “It is a privilege to join an organisation with such a great track record at a time when, together with our supporters, we have a real opportunity to create a safer, cleaner future.”

Andy Atkins, executive director of FOE says: “Friends of the Earth is making real gains in our campaigns to prevent climate catastrophe. We want even more people to know that taking political action together with us and supporting our vital work through donations really can make a difference. Jenkins brings the right combination of vision, skills and experience needed to help us respond to the challenges and opportunities of today’s world.”
