SodaStream launches £3m advertising push

SodaStream, the home carbonation system provider, is launching a £3m television advertisement to co-incide with the brand’s national relaunch.

The campaign, which breaks today (12 July) aims to bring SodaStream to a new generation of families, and will feature a variety of new flavours. It will also focus on demonstrating value for money and environmental benefits – as well as the fun people remember from the first time around.

It will be the first time in almost twenty years that SodaStream has been supported by a national TV ad campaign.

In the past. SodaStream has always been famous for its iconic ads – including it’s 1980s ’Get busy with the fizzy’ ad and an ad featuring comedians Tommy Cooper called “Just Like That”.

SodaStream says the new TV ad will “capture the fondness that people have for SodaStream by featuring a series of tongue-in-cheek vignettes of people reflecting on their ’loss’ that SodaStream is no longer around, amplified by the dramatic soundtrack “Without You” by Nilsson.”

The mood of the ad then swiftly changes to overwhelming joy and celebration at the news that their beloved SodaStream is back – with different groups and individuals jumping for joy, throwing their hands in the air and getting excited.

The celebrity voiceover includes the lines “We waited for you….not a moment passed when you weren’t in our thoughts…” and then leads onto “This is what we’ve been waiting for…SodaStream is back…and better than ever!”
