Rajar appoints new CEO

Jerry Hill has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of radio audience measurement body Rajar.

Hill will join Rajar (Radio Joint Audience Research) on 6 September. He replaces Sally de la Bedoyere, who stepped down at the beginning of June.

Hill was formerly worldwide strategic development director for media agency Initiative Media, a division of United News and Media.

He has also held roles at sponsorship agency TSMS and Anglia TV and served as a director of television audience measurement body BARB. He is a former chairman of ITV research and chairman of the IPA’s five-year strategy group.

David Mansfield, chairman of Rajar, says: “It is very important for the radio industry that the day-to-day running of Rajar is in professional and capable hands and we feel confident that Jerry is this person.”

Hill adds: “I am a real fan of radio. It is a highly innovative industry and faces a very exciting future. I am greatly looking forward to taking up this new position with Rajar and working with its highly professional team, who have worked hard over past years creating and maintaining the industry gold standard in radio audience research, a standard that is recognised not just in the UK but internationally as well.”
