ITV marketing chief steps down

ITV is parting company with group marketing director David Pemsel and insight and research chief Chad Wollen.

The departures come following a restructure that sees the marketing and research departments report to newly appointed director of programming Peter Fincham. The positions are expected to remain and a hunt is on for replacements for Pemsel and Wollen.

Pemsel is a former senior agency executive who has worked at St Luke’s and Ogilvy & Mather. He joined ITV in 2005 as marketing director.

ITV has been reviewing its business divisions since the arrival of chief executive Adam Crozier earlier this year.

The broadcaster has seen a recent surge in advertising revenues thanks to the World Cup but observers remain cautious on the long-term outlook for revenues. ITV is keen to develop new revenue streams and is thought to be examining a possible subscription for its digital channels.

Other recent departures include managing director of brand and commercial Rupert Howell, while Fru Hazlitt is set to take up her position as MD of commercial and online at the start of next month.
