NHBC builds SCV

National House Building Council is creating a single customer view of the registered homeowners, house builders and housing plots on its books. As part of the process, it is introducing a data quality solution from Harte-Hanks Trillium Software.

Currently, NHBC holds around five million records within its enterprise business process system, but has ten further systems containing up to hundreds of thousands more records each. Its Buildmark warranty covers over 80 per cent of new homes and protects around 1.7 million houses. To achieve the necessary quality, formatting and standardisation for SCV, the council recognised the need for a data quality application.

“To deliver our customers the very best warranty and insurance services, we

require complete, reliable and consistent information at our disposal,” said

Pete Smyth, group head of IT at NHBC. “Trillium will cleanse, match and consolidate our multi-system data for migration to a corporate information repository presenting a single view to all enterprise processes.”

“NHBC is to be commended for moving forward with the creation of a single customer view and recognising at the outset that a clear data quality strategy is fundamental to optimal success of its business process goals,” said Ed Wrazen, vice president of product marketing at Harte-Hanks Trillium Software.
