Waitrose to launch Heston Blumenthal ‘range’

Chef Heston Blumenthal, known for his unusual use of ingredients such as the bacon and egg ice cream, is launching a range of products exclusively for Waitrose the supermarket that uses the chef alongside Delia Smith in its advertising. ’Heston for Waitrose’ range launches in October.

The range of 20 products in the range will include vanilla mayonnaise, Chardonnay mayonnaise, coriander and rose salt and Lapsong Souchong tea smoked salmon.

More traditional items such as steak and kidney pie and a hidden orange Christmas pudding will also be made available for the less adventurous.

The success of the retailer’s advertising push featuring Blumenthal and Smith will also result in the launch of a cookery school a first for a supermarket.
