MCCA becomes MAA in bid to boost awareness

The Marketing Communications Consultants Association (MCCA) is renaming itself as the Marketing Agencies Association (MAA) with immediate effect.

The association says the move is part of a broader program to increase awareness of the services that the MCCA offers the industry, its member agencies and marketers.

Scott Knox, managing director, MAA says: “As the diversity of our membership has widened, we have felt a growing need for our name to better reflect who we represent – the best of the UK’s marketing agencies across all disciplines. Looking at the evolving media landscape and having surveyed feedback from the industry, this simply feels like the most natural course to take and I’m confident the new name will add greater clarity to our role.”

The name change followed extensive research amongst brand owners, journalists, civil servants and its membership though the organisation’s brand identity will remain the same.

The change-over will be take immediate effect with the new website being www.marketingagencies.org.

The MCCA’s member agencies include DraftFCB, EHS 4D, Elvis and last month welcomed DDB UK to its membership.
