EDF Energy shakes up marketing team

EDF Energy has promoted head of brand Martin Stead to marketing director as part of a wider shake up of its marketing department.

Stead will handle the energy provider’s customer retention and acquisition, customer experience, proposition development, channel deployment, marketing operations, and data/insight.

He replaces Robin Melvin who held the role on an interim basis.

Cameron Hughes replaces Stead as head of brand. He joins EDF from advertising agency Euro.RSCG where he was strategic planner and handled EDF’s ’Recycled Clips’ campaign and the Team Green Britain initiative.

Hughes will take responsibility for EDF’s brand strategy, above-the-line communications, employee brand engagement and brand stewardship with a focus on driving EDF’s positioning as “a truly sustainable energy company and the largest producer of low carbon electricity.”

He will report to Andrew Brown, brand, sustainability and external communications director.

Hughes takes up the position on 6 September.
