Formula 1 legend and former world champion Nigel Mansell is starring alongside comedian Omid Djalili in a TV ad for that pushes the price comparison site’s car insurance offerings.

The newest TV spot of the £20m media campaign is being implemented by creative agency MCBD and media agency Mediacom.

The ad carries on the theme of British people’s inability to haggle and is set in Mansell’s home, where the racing driver is filmed playing Scalextric whilst negotiating a new car insurance rate over the phone.

Djalili, the ad’s co-star, was first hired to front the ad campaign after the price comparison site saw its revenues slump 23% in 2009. The ad breaks nationwide today (26 August) on terrestrial and digital TV.
