EBay campaign targets fashionistas

EBay is launching a campaign to promote its direct selling “Fashion Outlet” business and increase its share of the high-end fashion market.

Since launching Fashion Outlet in April, eBay has attracted brands such as Superdry Karen Millen, Ted Baker and Office and says it will announce additional high street brands over the next few weeks.

EBay will push the message that shoppers can save up to 70% on high street and branded fashions buying directly from retailers and brands through the eBay Fashion Outlet.

From Today (31 September) eBay is running a press ad campaign in glossy women’s titles such as Vogue, OK!, Look, Grazia, Stylist, Elle and Red.

A complementary outdoor campaign will run from October.

Ebay claims the Fashion Outlet is it fastest growing sales channel and has generated sales of £4m for the brands that use it since launch.

The online marketplace says that more than 2.3 million people visit its fashion category every month, making it its “most successful” segment.
