Carat reshuffles senior management team

Aegis-owned media agency Carat has appointed Tracy de Groose as MD, replacing Robert Horler.

Horler has been promoted to the newly created role of UK chief operating officer for Aegis Media UK, while Carat UK’s deputy MD Steve Hobbs will take the newly created role of director of media operations across all Aegis Media UK’s media businesses.

De Groose has worked in the Carat UK management team for the last year in a variety of roles. She was previously UK MD and group managing partner of Naked Communications, and before that held senior roles at Starcom and worked client-side as Stella Artois brand director for Whitbread.

Horler will lead operations for all Aegis UK media businesses including Carat, Vizeum, Feather Brooksbank, iProspect and Ævolve.

He’ll take over some of the duties of former Aegis Media UK CEO Nigel Sharrocks, who became CEO for Aegis Media across Western Europe in May.

Hobbs will be responsible for developing internal relationships and with media owners and driving technological improvements and commercial opportunities.

All three executives will start their new roles on 6 September.

Last week Carat forecast a 4.7% rise in global ad spend next year.
