Michael Robinson, marketing director at Totaljobs, says the market has picked up in most sectors, with more jobs being advertised and more people seeking jobs.
The Totaljobs Barometer has reported an increase in marketing and advertising posts and applicants each month since June.
The number of advertising, marketing and PR jobs available in August was 7,280 compared with 5,188 in the same month last year.
The online recruiter’s findings come as a report by marketing recruitment specialists Badenoch & Clark claims that there was an increase in job opportunities within the marketing and communications sector in August as companies resurrected their marketing plans.
Badenoch & Clark managing director Lynne Hardman says insight marketers are in particular demand because companies are looking to identify trends and understand consumer behaviour in order to gain the edge over competitors.
The Totaljobs TV campaign, developed by VCCP, features characters created from household goods discussing dream careers, and aims to build awareness and differentiate the brand in the competitive recruitment sector.
A separate survey by recruitment agency Manpower this week reveals that employers are optimistic about their future hiring plans and more firms intend to increase staff numbers than cut them in coming months.
