Hyundai names European marketer

Hyundai Motor Europe has appointed Mark Hall as its first marketing director for the region as it readies models to move into new market segments.

Hall takes on all responsibility for marketing, including product marketing, advertising, brand development and PR and is based in Offenbach, Germany.

Hall most recently served as the head of product planning and marketing for Lexus Europe, having previously held various positions in sales and marketing with Toyota at a European level and in the UK.

Hall and his team will be implementing an intensive product launch programme. This begins with the introduction of four new models for Europe at this week’s 2010 Paris Motor Show, including the new B-segment MPV challenger ix20. Several models are aimed taking Hyundai into new market segments for the first time.

Hyundai has grown volume for the first eight months of this year by 5.6% in a market which has fallen by 3% .The company has a year-to-date market share of 2.6%, up on the same period last year.
