E.on offers older customers 15% winter discount

E.on has launched a new energy tariff targeting older customers to help them save money as winter approaches.

The WarmAssist tariff offers discounted prices, free energy saving measures and advice to customers over 60 that receive pension credit, disability living allowance or attendance allowance.

E.on says WarmAssist could save eligible customers £170 each year.

The energy provider is contacting 100,000 eligible customers with a direct mail campaign in the coming weeks to communicate the benefit of WarmAssist and also inviting customers that think they are eligible to get in touch.

Catherine Clayton, WarmAssist customer services manager at E.on, says: “We know from schemes such as E.on’s Challenge 1003 that the best way to help eradicate fuel poverty is to improve the energy fitness of peoples’ homes. By working together to achieve this, as well as offering discounted prices, we hope to be able to help the customers who need our support the most.”

E.on has also launched a dedicate customer care line to help customers struggling with their energy bills and provide free advice on energy efficiency measures, benefits entitlement checks and free E.on EnergyFit starter packs.

As the weather turns colder utilities providers including British Gas, EDF Energy and Npower are expected to ramp up teir marketing efforts in a bid to help customers save money and energy.

Last month, EDF Energy launched an energy saving ad campaign to promote EcoManager its new energy saving device.
