Unilever extends global marketing team

Unilever has confirmed it is expanding its marketing team by creating three global roles to boost the return from its marketing investment.

The fmcg company has created a global vice president of agency relations, a global vice president for marketing services and a global vice president for futures communications.

Helena Ganczakowski, current global VP of heart health and former Unilever UK marketer will take on the agency relations role.

Jorgen Bartsch, currently Singapore based director of marketing operations will take on the marketing services role.

Former VP of European marketing Paula Quazi will take on the futures communications role.

The changes have been brought by Unilever chief marketing officer Keith Weed who took on the CMO role in March following the departure of Simon Clift.

Unilever kicked off a season of M&A activity earlier this month with a $3.7bn (£2.3bn) deal to acquire personal care group Alberto Culver and its TRESemmé, VO5, and Simple brands.

It is also considering putting its Chicken Tonight and Ragu sauce brands up for sale.
