AA ad features John Cleese

The AA has launched a campaign to boost interest in its home services using comedy legend John Cleese.

The home emergency response television ad, which launches today (18 October), features the star of Fawlty Towers appear as a man who believes the AA can’t help him during a series of disasters, including water pouring through his ceiling.

The ad features the line, “The AA? For Faulty showers?”

Michale Cutbill, marketing director for The AA, says the ad is meant to show the AA’s home services are just as good as its automotive services.

The campaign is the first since McCann London were appointed by the AA in a multi-way pitch.
