NME moves into music production

Music magazine NME is to offer in-house music production services to bands with the launch of NME Productions.

A studio will open at NME’s offices in London, where bands can record session tracks, interviews, press kits and other audio visual content.

The studio has already been used by the likes of Kasabian, Doves, La Roux and Florence and the Machine.

Krissi Murison, editor of NME, says: “NME has always been committed to championing new music. By opening the doors to our studio, we’re also now able to offer artists the opportunity to create all the content they need to go out and make a big impact on music fans everywhere.”

NME Productions follows the recent launch of NME Breakthrough, a community platform on NME.com which features new music and allows brands to upload their own content, and interact with their fans.

IPC’s Inspire division is also home to men’s magazine Loaded, which has been linked to a sell off since August this year.

IPC Media has recently begun selling off several of its smaller niche titles recently including Prediction, Web User and Superbikes.

In April, the publisher announced it was to embark on a strategic review of the specialist and niche titles in order to focus on its multi-platform and digital opportunities.
