John Lewis to bolster marketing department with new heads

John Lewis is bolstering its marketing department with the recruitment of four new heads of marketing.

The department store is in the process of recruiting new heads of marketing as it continues to restructure its branding teams.

Pitch understands that amongst those joining the department store in the newly created roles are Vodafone’s head of consumer content, Lloyd Page – who once worked with Craig Inglis, marketing director at John Lewis at Virgin Trains – and Marks and Spencer marketing manager Rachel Swift, who will lead the fashion department.

The four new recruits will report to Inglis, who collected the client of the year trophy at the Blades Awards. John Lewis also won best in retail and best in show prizes on the night for its “Never Knowingly Undersold” ad by Adam & Eve.

The move comes just months after John Lewis promoted merchandise director Jill Little to strategy director, ahead of her retirement next year and created a new buying and brand director role for Peter Ruis, formerly its fashion buying director.

A spokesperson for the retailer said it was hiring people for the roles but was unable to offer further details at the time of going to press.
